Re: Weather displayed covering my raster map.
I don't mean to hijack the thread. However I do have a curious question.Reading the last post from Rainier, I looked at the Sim for the Odyssey. Primarly looking for the Nexrad weather. Cant fine that. Now the question is weather available on the Odyssey? I have never seen a display of weather. Poss...

Xtreme EFIS AHRS display cant be reset.
Just finishing a panel rebuild with the Xterme EFIS as a backup instrument. Straight forward install with SP-6 and SP-7. Compass no issues at all. however the AHRS is not quite right. Mount is parallel to flight in both pitch and roll. EFIS shows a right roll.Tried many times to reset with no change...

Re: Navidata not displaying on Xtreme
Cant speak for the Gen 1, I have Gen 2. Have you set up the settings for WAYPOINTS in the menu section? There you can show or hide waypoints, airports ETC. As for Australia you will need create your own EWD file. I believe that NAVAID.COM has been updated. Don't know if it is current for AUS. You wi...

XTreme EFIS Programming suggestion
Some observations of the XTreme EFIS. Nothing to do with how the screens are displayed, they are rather good. My primary complaint is when doing a search for a waypoint or airport it is very clumsily. That is having to go through all the special symbols and lower case letters. Why not eliminate all ...

Re: AP servo chattering
I have seen, and it does the same on my RV9 and a recent install on a RV4. They will chatter, if you will, but if you put any loading on the control surface it will stop. That being said the aero loading while in flight you wont get it.

Autopilot installs in a Vans RV8 or RV4
Hi Vans owners, anyone with an AP install in a RV4 or 8 would you mind sharing you AP settings. Looking more for what you have for the High and Low speed settings. Trying to help out a friend with the Xtreme EFIS. A few screen shots will go a long way to help sort out his issues.

Re: AP servo chattering
Had a similar issue with a Questair Venture on both roll and pitch. The Venture uses control bias spring cartridges to tighten up the flight controls as well for trim. I changed out the springs, not a noticeable change in control pressure but the extra loading of the servo made a noticeable differenc...

Re: Autopilot "Wallowing"
I have a RV9 with the older Odyssey and full AP. After takeoff and trim for cruise, the AP is absolutely rock solid and stable. Can fly totally hands off. I do believe if I had a servo on the throttle and engage a intercept for my destination runway the Rv just might land by the AP. IMHO as good as ...
