good day,
Could someone please share the settings for the V6 that are compatible with the Bose A10 headset?
Thank you.
Rainier?

In most cases the Bose will overdrive the available input signal amplitude range. The V6 has a fairly high input impedance and some active systems rely on a fairly large load to bring the signal amplitude down. So you need to create that load. This is easily done by using a capacitor and resistor in series connected between the microphone line and signal ground. You need a 220 ohm resistor (1/4 or 1/8W is fine) and a 10uF capacitor - normal polarized electrolytic is fine - the positive goes to the mic wire.

In some cases you don't need the capacitor - if the headset amplifier does not attempt to use the power supplied by the radio on the mic line you can just fit a 220 ohm resistor.

Mic gain level is then adjusted as usual - find unused frequency and PTT - talk and note sound level of your side tone - it should be the same level when PTT is off (intercom mode). Adjust mic gain until you have the same level. It will sound slightly different because of the signal compression during TX but set the level to be very similar - at this setting the noise suppression systems (Vogad or VOX) will also be in their optimum range for adjustment.

I also didn't realize the need to be an electrical engineer to operate these avionics? How about a BOSE A20 or A30 headset? Are there recommended settings for these popular headsets?
Thank you
