how to test a Stratomaster TP-2

Hi, all --

We have a Stratomaster Velocity TP-2 which may or may not be entirely healthy. After 6 years and 1000 hours of consistent performance on our Rotax 912ULS, we suddenly see elevated oil temps. Oil pressure is normal, and EGTs, CHTs, & H2O on the Strat E-1 are normal, so we're leaning away from a true oil overheating problem at the moment. Since our Rotax expert's input is that the 965531 oil temp sensor almost never fails and usually does so entirely if it's gonna, we're exploring all of the options. Unfortunately, we don't have the same sensor for CHTs or we'd just swap one to eliminate that half of the decision tree :-/

Sooooo ... is there any way to test a TP-2 to see that it's reading and interpreting accurately? I know how to measure resistance (and plan to do that on the sensor the next time we're there with the wrench); I don't know how to create a given load in order to confirm the temp shown there. Got any suggestions?

The Rotax install manual has a graph of temperature vs resistance - so you can use that as simple reference...
