Hi There,
I would like to ask for a third fuel tank option (FL3) to be added, in the situation where Fuel Pressure (FP) is not required in gravity fed situations like mine. The space on the display for FP could then be used by the third tank FL3, and the range (nm/Mins) can be added for the three tanks for fuel/dist monitoring purposes, when flying.
I own a Jodel D.18 with a main header tank(35L) and two wing tanks (20L ea). The engine is gravity fed from the main tank, and the two wing tanks can be transferred to the main tank via a electric transfer pump.
I use a MGL Xtreme EMS running 2.17 firmware.
It would really help my situation, and anyone else with three tanks. It also helps a 'ferry tank' situation where a two tank aircraft, needs to put a temporary tank into the baggage area.
My local MGL agent Stuart has been excellent, he has suggested an option to use the Fuel Pressure or Aux ports for the third tank. This will work but I really want the Range info to be added, which only a proper FL3 implementation would allow.
I also looked at joining the fuel probe sensors together electrically for the two tanks, to use them as one (40L combined) tank, which does give me the range, but i lose the ability to see which is holding what amount. It is also somewhat dependant on the tank geometry if the levels are not the same.
Does anyone else have three tanks, am interested in whether this proposed new feature would be generally useful?
