SP10 power wiring

Post by Loman »

It should be obvious to me but . . .

The SP10 manual has a variety of helpful wiring diagrams for the D-Sub 25 socket but no reference to the D-Sub 9 on the other end.

The pin-out diagrams on the casing show power and ground on both D-Sub plugs. In the case of the D-Sub 25, the wiring diagrams label it as "High-current motor supply" and "Motor supply ground". On the D-Sub 9, they are labeled "+12V" and "-Ground".

Do I run power to both of these sockets and, where can I draw the power from (iBOX or ECB?) for each one?

My current plan is to run power to the D-Sub 9 socket from my IBox Power VS pin (from where a second SP-10, SP-6, SP-7, SP-12 and RDAC will also receive power). Power to the D-Sub25 will come from an ECB. Does this work?

The SP-10 will use power (positive) from any of the two connectors - whatever is available. That is to run the internal electronics. The power to your motors is a separate feed (but will be used to power the electronics if supply from the DB-9 is not present.
